I had pens, coloured pencils, a piece of paper, and four hours to do nothing. I just drew whatever my hand felt like doing without really thinking of what I was doing. Then, I coloured it using coloured pencils because they were the "brightest" media I had around (I would have loved to do it in acrylic paints, but I only have darker colours and no money to buy more right now).
I put this in "psychedelic" even though personally I would compare this to some of the early surrealism/automatism works of art. But I feared that putting it under "surrealism" would get it deleted because some people would see it and yell, "OMG! Itz nt dali-lik!!!!!!111one"
"I want to show people the movies... In... My... Head..." -David Byrne from David Byrne Interviews David Byrne
I guess this is kind of like a movie I have in my head. Or at least like some of the dreams I've been having for years on end. Music... Coffee... Things burning... A heart... I was in a so-so mood when I made this. More happy than depressed, I guess. Or maybe on the road from happiness to depression, which may or may not be known as Southbound IH-35. There is so much to be said about this, yet so little words to describe what I need to say. I feel that lately it is easier for me to communicate through pieces of art rather than through writing (and I love writing and used to be good at it). Perhaps now I am trying to communicate things that are harder to verbally express than the ones I once was trying to communicate.
Well, I guess I'll leave it at that. After all, I am presenting just a crazy piece of paper with marks on it and not talking to my therapist!
First - I love this use of traditional art! And colour!
Second - this type of abstract art, when done right, is some of my favourite stuff.
This one is done right I love it!
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
